Hi O!
You're getting so big. Your friend Sammie came for a visit last night. You're going to be in the same childcare class as him. He's huge! I hope he doesn't eat you.

Week 6: Diaperless
Your diaper area was starting to get a little red so I decided to let you go diaperless for a little bit. I didn't want you to pee all over me so I put some blankets down and we had some tummy time.
I'm sure I'll be bringing out these photos at an opportune time in the future...like say your first date. mwahaha >:)

Week 6: First Bath
Hi little O :)
You're napping right now so I have time to write to you. Yesterday Mommie had her 6 week postnatal check up at her midwife office. It was weird to go there for the last time after going there every week. The midwife said that everything looked good so yay to that.
We decided to give you your first bath on Monday. Mommie has been too afraid to do it by herself during the day because I'm afraid of dropping you so I waited until your Daddy got home. Daddy set up the little tub that Tio Toti got you and we put you in. You were in for about half a second when you started peeing everywhere. After that you were pretty chill until the end when you started getting cold.
What else? Oh your Daddy got me a Nintendo DS for my birthday and it comes in so handy during the day. When I'm pumping or when you're sleeping on my chest for a few hours I can play. Here is me playing:
Last thing. I have been complaining that you don't have any of my features (your Abuelita gave us a photo of Daddy when he was little and you two look exactly alike). Your Daddy though said that's not true...he has your nails! Yes, O you have Mommie's sharp nails. You like to scratch Mommie's chest with them. Here's proof:
It's really fun being your Mommie sweetie. You're like my little pet. My nickname for you this week is baby chicken. You smile when I call you that.
Daddy has been doing a night feeding for the last few nights and wow has it made a difference. I think I slept for 5 hours in a row last night...amazing! Thanks to Daddy for doing that, he must be so tired. Well, I'm going to go take a shower now but I'll be watching you on the monitor. Love you sweetie pie!

Week 5: Vacation!
Hi little O :)
We went on a little vacation this weekend to celebrate Mommie's 27th birthday. It was a lot of fun. Mommie's boss got her a gift certificate to the Essex Street Inn in Newburyport, Massachusetts. It's a cute little historic bed & breakfast.
Daddy took the day off on Friday and we headed out to Newburyport around noon after packing the car full of your stuff. The inn was really nice and we mostly relaxed on Friday and then Saturday we went took you to the beach for the first time! It was really windy and cold out though so we didn't stay for long.
You're so excited to be at the beach
Mommie freezing
Sand everywhere
We love Octavio (the blanket is to protect you from the sand)
Octavio was here 06/23/07
It's time for us to go
Yummie Italian Dinner
On Saturday night your Daddy wasn't feeling so well so you and I went for a walk around town and on the boardwalk. It was so pretty to see the sun setting.

On Sunday we decided to surprise Daddy's family since we were so close to Boston and ended up seeing lots of your family at Titi Carmen's house including your Titi Lucy and your great Grandmother Digna!
We're all really tired right now so bye for now. Love you sweetie!

Week 5: Happy Cumplesemana!
Hi little O :)
Happy 5th week birthday!!
You are sleeping right now which gives me a bit of time to do some things. It's funny, some days I have a little bit of "free time" and them some days I don't even have time to take a shower or have lunch.
The last week or so you haven't been sleeping at night at all. You usually wake up 2-3 times a night, nurse for an hour or so and then fall right asleep. The last few days though you would finish nursing and then just stare at me with wide open eyes. I would look at you and say, aren't you tired little O? It's 3 am. But you would just look back at me so we'd have to find things to do until 6:30am or so when you finally wanted to fall asleep. Last night you went back to your usual schedule though and nursed and then fell asleep. Yay! Keep it up little O. Mommie can play with you more during the day if she's gotten some rest.
Well, we had a busy weekend visiting both sides of your familia. On Saturday we went to visit the Rincons. Lela Carmen, Papa Cesar and Titi Jomaira were there. Your Titi made a huge feast and it was really yummie...especially the bacalaitos! You nursed a lot and then I think you were sleepy but couldn't fall asleep so your Papa Cesar walked around with you and held you as did Lela Carmen. Lela Carmen was calling you calvito because you're losing your hair. Poor baby! Luckily, your Titi Jomaira got you a little gift...a tiny Connecticut cap than can cover your baldness. Look how cute...

On Sunday, your Daddy took care of you during the morning so I was able to sleep from 7am-12:30pm. It felt so good to sleep that long. Sunday was Father's Day, your Daddy's first. He is such a good Daddy O. You're really lucky. For Father's Day, we got your Daddy a mug that has a picture of you on it so he can bring it to work and look at you all day. Your Daddy doesn't drink coffee though so maybe he'll drink Diet Coke from the mug.
Around 3pm we left to meet the Fernandezes in Worcester. We met at Pizzeria Uno and had a yummie dinner (well, except for Daddy's "really well done" burger but he can tell you about that). You slept through all of dinner and didn't want to wake up but you finally got up when we went outside and Abuela Mayela fed you.
