Hi sweetie pie :)
Happy 14 month birthday!
It's a bit late but I'm up because I'm making some minestrone soup for your Daddy. We've all caught a cold and your Daddy loves minestrone so I thought that might make him feel a little better. It takes a lot of time to chop all the veggies and get all the spices together but it should be done soon. Your Daddy is sleeping on the futon a few feet away from me next to your monitor so if you wake up he can hear you. You're sleeping in our bed with two pillows between you. Your Papa Cesar & Lela Carmen got you a toddler bed from Ikea but you have yet to use it for more than 5 minutes. I don't know when you're going to sleep in it but maybe soon.
We moved from Papa Cesar & Lela Carmen's house about 2 weeks ago into our own apartment in West Hartford, Connecticut. It's about 15 minutes from Papa Cesar & Lela Carmen's house and about the same distance to Papa Jorgensen & Lela Mayela's house. I love our little apartamentico! It's close to everything and Daddy can take the bus to work and it's very diverse. We went for a walk the other day in the neighborhood and it was so nice.
We're in a two bedroom apartment so you have your own room but right now it's filled with boxes and other things so you haven't really got to hang out in it very much. You spend most of your time running around the apartment especially in the living room where your toys are. Your favorite things to do are to throw things in the toilet--like Mama's cell phone which is now inoperable, take your shoes and our shoes off the shoe rack, and to try to get into the kitchen so you can play with the pots and pans (we have a gate up between the kitchen and the dining room so you can't get in). You're also really into the Teletubbies as of late and you know where your belly button is and point to it and say "ba-bah!" and you still come up to me and say backa-backa-backa when you want to nurse. Although now you say that when you don't want to go to sleep and you trick me almost every time.
Let's see, what else... We took you to the beach this weekend. It was your second time at the beach. The first time you were 6 months old and it was really cold and windy and you stayed in your car seat. This time it was nice and warm and you got into the water with Daddy and played with the sand. We've taken you to the water spray parks in town but you're not really into them as much.
I'm starting grad school in a little less than 2 months and am a bit anxious about how I'm going to be able to study and read for class and also take care of you but I'm sure we'll manage. You're becoming more and more independent every day and will even play by yourself for a little bit so that helps a lot.
You are still so so cute Mister O and it takes everything for me not to wake you up and give you kisses and hugs right now. I love you my little peanut.
