22 months: Colorado!

After 4 flights, a blizzard, and lost luggage we're now safely in Denver!! It's so pretty here!

The law school put us up in an amazing hotel!! We're in a one bedroom suite that's beautiful and huge and has a full kitchen and balcony and did I say it's huge? It's bigger than our apartment! We're on the 13th floor so we can see all of Denver and even the Rocky Mountains. You're right at home climbing on everything and running around like a crazy monkey and watching Mickey's Playhouse on TV. I'll go into more detail about our travel adventures later but you were absolutely wonderful Mister O. Everyone kept commenting on how well behaved you were and of course how adorable you are. I love you my little snookie wookie...thanks for going easy on me! We're going to go take a shower now so we can head up to Boulder so Daddy can see the University of Colorado...hope he likes it! Mwah!

The view from the balcony in our hotel room

You woke up laughing this morning

Eduardo survived the trip too!

22 months: Picture Post

22 months: Picture Post

We went to a new playgroup on Monday night...this playgroups include a light dinner...yay! You had a billion slices of pizza. I've never seen you eat so much pizza.

22 months: At the library

We go to the library almost every day because unlike other public places, you can run around like a maniac and no one says anything (in the children's department anyway).

Here you are in the library playing chess with Daddy:

Daddy was trying to teach you how to play. Mama can't teach you because I don't know how to play chess (it's true!)

You're listening so intently

Trying to steal Daddy's pieces

This has nothing to do with anything...just trying to record every day moments in our lives

22 months: Haircut

We went to get you a haircut on Friday night. We took you to a fun little kid's haircutting place thinking you'd might like it but you hated every minute of it. You cried like someone was taking your backa-backa away. So sad my little snookie but your hair looks great!

Aww :(

We tried everything: cartoons, lollipops, stuffed animals...nada worked

After the haircut...calming down

All better!

22 months: At the park

I'm so happy it's getting warmer out because it means we can start going to parks again. You love parks and now that you're older you can go on the playscapes alone without me following you. Nice! Today we spent some time in the little park across from our apartment. (I was a little photo happy, forgive me)

22 months: No sugar!

Hello little O :)

We had such a nice day today because Daddy didn't have to go into work until 1:30pm. I loved it! I wish he only worked half days every day...but alas someone has to bring home le bacon. Anyhoo, I had a doctor's appointment this morning which is why Daddy took a half day. It was with a hippy naturopathic doctor in town. I've been feeling really tired lately no matter how much I sleep and my regular doctor said that it's just because I'm running after you all day but I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything else so thus the hippy doctor. I was a little nervous about seeing this new doctor because my last appointment with a hippy naturopathic doctor a few years ago resulted in me leaving his office with a big vial of Vitamin B12 syringes that I was to poke into myself once a week. Oh and also an EpiPen just in case I had an allergic reaction to one of the injections. Luckily my roommate at the time was a Type 1 Diabetic so she was used to seeing needles in the fridge and didn't think anything of it. Anyhoo, I was too chicken to stab myself with a needle (you had to get it deep in the thigh tissue) so I never ended up doing it.

Anyhoo, I had to fill out this super long intake form and an 83 question questionnaire about my current lifestyle. We talked for a long time and the hippy doctor told me I have to give up sugar. Ahhhh!!!! This is much worse than having to inject myself with Vitamin B12!!! He thinks that my little sugar addiction is what's causing my fatigue because my blood sugar levels are always spiking up and down. Ahhhh!! What will I do without my cakes and cookies and ice cream?? And my white rice?!?! Go crazy, that's what! I apologize in advance, Mister O.

After my doctor's appointment we headed to Fleet Feet so Daddy could exchange his sneakers because they've been bothering him a bit. He got some other ones and then I went into the store to get my free Saucony sneakers that I won. They should be coming in the mail in about 2 weeks. Yay! We also had a yummie breakfast in town and then we came back home you took your nap and Daddy went to work. What a great way to start the day.

Sadly you fell today on the sidewalk and now your nose is all scratched up. Poor Mister O. You also have a black and blue on your knee. You definitely inhereted my clumsiness.

I love you snookie poo.

22 months: Daddy 5k photos

Look at Daddy's short shorts

You'll notice that there aren't any photos of Mama...they've gone missing! They're nowhere to be found. So sad.

22 months: A Team Effort

Hey little man,

It's been a couple days since your Mother and I ran our first 5K together, I say first because I could easily see us doing it again, together! It was a blast. It wasn't easy but we both did a great job, and I personally can't tell you how rewarding it is to do so well after training for so many weeks. I hope you take after your Mother and have the inner force to take on a challenge head first and do whatever it takes to complete it.

It's crazy because I was real anxious before the race and nervous, a feeling I haven't felt in some time, I think since I took the F.B.I. exam some years ago. It's a feeling of not knowing what you are going to face but still wanting to do, and do it right away. We were fortunate it was such a nice day for our first run and that nothing happened to either your Mother and I that would have prevented us from finishing the race, which was our primary goal. Having done so well in our first race I think we both are eager to do another 5K and set personal records.

Anyhow, there won't be any rest for me as I'm starting training for a half marathon in May in Boston this Saturday. My Saturday runs will be at 7:30 which is good because I'm normally up at that time anyhow, so why not do something that's good for me right? You know your grandfather, my pa, used to run when he was younger, long distances not short, so maybe you'll like running as well? No pressure, just as long as you like basketball! Kidding.

This morning I went to work late because your Mother had a doctor's appointment and when you woke up and saw me still in bed with you you smiled real big and then hugged and cuddled me. It really made me feel special little man. I love you sooo much.

I'm getting more and more excited about our Colorado trip in a couple weeks and hope you, your mother and I all really like it there, since it's likely that's where we'll be living at least for the next three years.

Well, at work and almost time to go so chat later ok.

Love,

Pa
