Week 19: Three short/LONG days to go.

Not to sound like a broken record, but these hours are going by sooooo slow. Only 3 days before get to see you, and your mommy, and it seems like quite possibly the longest three days in my life. You know the saying that if you waiting for something it seems much longer and the second you stop thinking about it then it will seem like it came much quicker, well wish I could stop thinking about it! But can't! How can I stop thinking about going to see you and bringing you to my meet my family and then moving to live with you forever? Impossible. Who could stop thinking about it, I have a hard time going a few minutes without thinking about it. Why? Aside from the obvious excitement about seeing you, everything I do every day is somehow connected to you. Don't believe me? Ok. 1) I'm doing this blog, that's obvious, 2) I just came back from the cleaners to have the one suit I have dry cleaned so if I get an interview I'll be all set, 3) I'm getting ready to show my apt to someone that hopefully will sublet it so I can have more money...to spend on YOU, and 4) I've checked Google Talk like 23 times in last ten minutes hoping to see your mommy is online to say hello to her (and you by default). Made my point? Anyways, love you and if these 3 days ever go by will see you and promise to never leave you again for any prolonged amount of time. Pinky swear!

Week 19: I can feel the cold!

Counting down the days to be with you for good O, as well as with your mommy of course, and started thinking about how cold it gets in the middle of the winter in Massachusetts. Good thing for you that you don't make an appearance until the real cold is gone, although it will be exciting when we have to put you in a little snow suit and bundle you all up just to take out of the house!

Looks like it's up to you whether or not we find out your sex. Mommy came back to normalcy, and now we're both back on the same page about the issue and won't ask to find out your sex, but you can always try to tell us with how you are positioned when we do the next ultrasound, hint, hint, ;]

The Fernandez clan is thoroughly excited about seeing you, as are the Rincon's, and one day real soon they'll all get their wish! You've already made my wishes come true, being a father and partner to your mommy is more than I can ever have dreamed for! Gracias O. See you soon, si Dios quiere.

Week 19: Happy Cumplesemana!

Happy 19th Week Birthday!

According to the baby newsletters you weigh about 8.5 ounces and measure 6 inches, head to bottom -- about the length of a small zucchini. Mommie doesn't like zucchinis so I can't wait to know what fruit or vegetable you resemble next week.

Some other things from BabyCenter:

His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.

Week 18: We found a place!

Good afternoon sweetie,

We have good news...we found a place! It's a two bedroom in Northampton really close to where I live right now. If Daddy didn't think I was crazy already, I'm sure this weekend's apartment searching has confirmed it in his mind. He was so calm and collected though, the complete opposite of me. The landlord, Manny, called me last night to say that the apartment was ours if we wanted it. I tried not to scream but I think I ended up saying YES! really loudly. Manny was like...Are you sure? Your partner hasn't even seen it yet...doesn't he want to see it? I laughed and said that he trusted me so it was okay. It's a tiny, tiny apartment...I'm actually not sure how everyone who comes to visit you will fit in it but it's so perfect for us and really close to everything and nice and warm. I hope you like it too.

I'm so happy that your other family members are starting to write to you too. You are loved so much already, O. I hope you know that you'll have a lot of people who you can turn to and who will support you once you come out. Many of your family members are really busy with finals right now but I'm sure you'll hear from them soon. Send them good energy, little O.

You and I had a busy but relaxing day yesterday. We went to church in the morning. I go to United Church of Christ churches and went to a new one yesterday. UCC churches are nice because they're accepting of everyone and believe that God loves everyone no matter what. The service at church yesterday was about John the Baptist and how it's our duty as human beings to make the world a better place. Aww...Mommie liked that. After that was the passing of the peace and I got to say peace be with you to the cutest couple. They must have been in their mid to late 80s or so. They were so sweet and I could tell they really loved each other. I hope your Daddy and I will be like them when we're their age.

After that we went to workout at the gym. Mommie walked a little over 2 miles on the treadmill. I'm not supposed to get my heartrate above 140 because it decreases the oxygen and blood flow to you so I had to slow the treadmill down many times so my heartrate would stay low. I did some squats after that because I can actually deliver you in that position but I couldn't do nearly as many as I used to so will have to practice that some more.

I can't believe that you're turning 19 weeks tomorrow. It feels like we just found out we were having you. I think I'm really going to miss you being in my uterus and being pregnant. It's really nice to have you around and to take you everywhere with me. Hope you're enjoying yourself in there.

Love you!
-Mommie

Week 18: Hey there OBE (to be pronounced oh-bee)

Guest Post from Titi Lucy:

That will be my name for you until you make your grand entrance into the outside world. I figured Obe has components of both prospective names no? Told you I was corny Obe.

Anyhow Obe, it's Lucy again. Just Lucy. Figured I could be that old wanna-be cool aunt that has a little hippie in her that doesn't want a title, kind of like when a teacher wants you to call them by their first name, that could be me "Lucy" Just Lucy. What do you think?

Well, let me know. First you gotta learn how to talk.

For the record , Ray (my partner in crime and real stand up kind of guy) thinks "Titi Lucy" is better. He said he feels like it's "more of a connection." Connection shmection, you decide.

For right now, you are the talk of the town kid!

Until next time Obe,

Just Lucy
