Week 10: Picture Post

Watching the Democratic Presidential Debates...you slept through most of them

I think you woke up when Senator Gravel was screaming and going crazy

Week 10: Debates

Hi O :)

We just came back from our second baby massage class. You seem to like it but I usually spend half of the class nursing so I miss some things. We'll have to practice more at home. Last night we went to Daddy's workplace to watch the CNN/Youtube Democratic Presidential Debates. Your Daddy and I were both Political Science majors in college so you think I would have been interested in the debates but I wasn't. The questions were definitely better than usual but the answers were still the same ol', same ol'. I hope that in '09 we will have an interesting president for you who will shake things up. We'll see little one.

Your Daddy stayed up with you a lot last night so I could get some much needed sleep. Thank you Daddy! I now have an official return date for work, Thursday, August 9th. :( Lela Carmen, Titi Jomi, and Abuela Mayela will be taking care of you for the 2 1/2 weeks before childcare starts. I'm going to miss you so much sweetie but I don't want to start crying right now so I'll leave it at that. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with your familia though so that makes me happy.

I have to go make myself something to eat now because I'm starving little one. I love you!

Week 10: Picture Post

At the park downtown

Yes, I'm taking a photo of you

It was really sunny outside during our walk so we had to buy you a sun hat so you wouldn't get burned...this was the smallest one they had

Why is Daddy sticking out his tongue?

eating your manita

We had to get a picture of your hairdo

You won't be able to sleep in your bassinet much longer :(

Look how small you used to be in your bassinet :(

Yes!! We love this

Walking to Babywearing class...

Daddy trying out a mei-tei (there's a stuffed bunny in there)

Now with you...

Let's get in the maya wrap

You were really cozy (this is how babies in most of the world are carried)

Week 10: Happy Cumplesemana!

Hi fluffernutter :)

Happy 10th week birthday!!

You are huge and almost outgrowing your bassinet...so sad so sad. You've been drooling so much lately sweetie which is perfectly normal but you're always wet. We should just keep a bib on you all the time. What else...you're still talking and smiling a lot. Your sleeping schedule is still a bit erratic. You like to be up from 2-3 or 4 am every night. You're wide awake at that time and like to talk to us. I shouldn't be surprised as that's how you were in utero. It's also been a week from your surgery and I can't say that the nursing has gotten better as far as pain but you nurse quicker now so that's good. We'll see if the pain lessens soon.

Last night we went to a Babywearing class at a children's store downtown. It was a lot of fun and we got to try a bunch of different carriers. Your Daddy and I really liked the mei-tei carrier so we'll probably be getting one to replace the Baby Bjorn that hurts our shoulders.

Love you sweetie!

Week 9: Doing many things

Good morning little O :)

You're in the Baby Bjorn sleeping on Daddy's chest right now. You're so cute! You seem to have recovered from your tongue tie operation pretty nicely. I haven't noticed a difference in nursing except that the first few days it actually hurt me more than before but now it's back to just the regular pain...we'll see if it improves in the next few days.

If you're going to watch tv we figured it should at least be educational

Your Daddy was trying to grow a beard

Daddy burping you

The latest in baby fashion: purple Dora socks, pink gingham onesie, and a striped hat

Hi lovies!

Jen, the doula who helped with your birth came to visit us the other night. We hadn't seen her since the day you were born and it was so nice to see her and talk about baby things and your birth. I started crying at the end because I was talking about going back to work and it made me so sad.

Jen helped get you out nice and safe

Thursday was your parents' anniversary (first date) so your Lela Carmen and Titi Jomaira came to take care of you while we went out on a date. Your Daddy and I went to East Heaven Tubs, a beautiful japanese style tub place. It was so great sweetie. We sat in the 104 degree tub outside and looked up at the sky. Oh my it was so relaxing. After that we had a quick dinner and headed back home where you were still sleeping.

So excited!

104 degrees is really hot. Mommie was also afraid of getting sucked under by the hot tub (I saw a 20/20 special on it)

pretty sky

You have to take a shower before going in

Din din at Sierra Grille

Scrabble pre-din din

We're going to try to run to the farmer's market in a little bit and then walk around downtown which we haven't done with you for a long time. Love you sweetie!
