Week 25: Sickie

Hi O!

Pink eye update: you still have pink eye but it's cleared up a lot so far. Yay!

Mama update: I'm still really sick and now I have the dreaded body aches. Oh my! I hope I don't get you too sick sweetie. Hopefully my breastmilk has built up antibodies or something. I still don't know how that works.

I tried out a new bottle on you at daycare today. The bottles you use, Soothie bottles, are made of plastic with Bisphenol-A in it. Bisphenol-A leaks into the plastic and it's been shown to do horrible things to animals. Ahh!

So I sent you with a new Medela bottle that doesn't have
Bisphenol-A in it but apparently you decided to chew on the bottle and didn't know what to do with it. Ahh!

What's more important? Having you be able to drink your milk or not getting harmful chemicals into you? I don't know! We'll try again tomorrow.

I love you sweetie pie!

Week 25: Happy Cumplesemana!

Hi O!

Happy 25th week birthday!!

You and I stayed home today because ... you have pink eye. Noooooo...not again!

This morning I went to drop you off at childcare and your teacher said that you had to go see the doctor. You were denied! Meanwhile all the other kiddies were oozing all kinds of things out of all their orifices but I don't say anything because just because other parents drop off their babies when they're sick doesn't mean we should.

Luckily your doctor has walk in for sick kiddies every morning at 8:30am. You have to get there by 8:30 or you'll have to make an appointment for another time. We got to the Amherst office at 8:29...good job Mommie! They have these new thermometers at your pediatrician. They just scan your head for a second with this wand and it measures your temp. No more rectal thermometers for you!

Anyway, the doctor walked in with a sad look on her face. She said, "Hi handsome boy! You are all red and yucky looking but you're still handsome!" What?? I can't believe she said you were yucky looking! I mean you do look a whole mess but not yucky looking. I kept thinking, your doctor would never had said that. He thinks you're really cute! Anyhoo, she prescribed some antibiotic eye drops for you and we were off to the pharmacy in no time.

I put the drops in as soon as we got home but you still look a whole mess. Your left eye is all red and irritated. You're oozing out all this pus from your eyes. I think they were glued shut this morning. It's so sad sweetie. I'm also not feeling well and have a bad cold. This is not good as this is a super busy week at work. What to do, what to do. Your Daddy took a half day today so I could go into work in the afternoon but when he came home I was fast asleep and I never made it into work. Bad Mommie! All I keep thinking is that soon I won't have to worry about you being sick and missing work. Can't wait!

These photos don't do your pink eye justice

Week 24: Our weekend

Hi sweet pea :)

You're taking your morning nap right now. Yes! Naps are great! Naps mean that you sleep through the night...yay!

Anyhoo, we've been at home all weekend. This is the first time that we've been home for a weekend in a long long time. It's been really nice. On Friday night, you went to sleep mad early so your Daddy and I ate some yummie food and then watched episodes of The Office on my laptop. Good times.

On Saturday, we woke up around 9am and went over Shuli's house. Her partner cooked us yummie brunch and we hung out for a bit. They have a cute little dog and two cats. The dog really liked you but you started getting sleepy so we headed home because we're all about you getting your nap time. Last Saturday you didn't nap at all and it messed up your schedule so much. Your Mommie and Daddy (well, especially your Mommie) need their sleep so we headed home where you fell asleep for a few hours until you were rudely awakened by a car alarm behind our apartment. Poor baby!

After you woke up we headed to BabiesRUs to get you a new stroller and car seat. You've outgrown your infant car seat so we're going to give your travel system to your Titi Tatiana. There are so many car seats to choose from little O! I had read the reviews and safety ratings and all that before we went there but I still was confused. We ended up just getting you a stroller and we're going to keep looking around for a car seat.

You were up a lot last night so I hope you're aokay. I was really tired and I'm starting to get sick so Daddy took care of you all night and would just bring you over to nurse and then take you back. What a sweet Daddy! You're starting to wake up so I'll write to you later. I love you little one!
